The Heritage Fund provides grant opportunities for trail projects, outdoor environmental education programs, local, regional, and state parks, as well as historic preservation projects through legislatively appropriated funds.

The Arizona Department of Forestry and Fire Management is currently accepting applications for the Urban Forestry Program's Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) Grant Program. The IRA Grants are to be used to improve community forest conditions and access to disadvantaged communities, address the backlog of local community forestry work, and position Arizona’s community forests as a valuable piece of mitigating climate change impacts and urban heat.. Projects should be aimed at improving the long-term health and care of the urban forest, or at initiating new urban forestry projects in Arizona communities that would not otherwise be funded through existing budgets. This program is being made possible from funds allocated to Arizona from the USFS during the first round of funding distribution and not the public Notice of Funding Opportunity.

The IRA Project's theme is: Improving urban forest conditions in disadvantaged communities for climate resilience and heat mitigation. Project timelines for this grant should be 4 years. The projects must be in service to supporting disadvantaged communities as defined by the Climate and Economic Justice Screening Tool: CJEST - https://screeningtool.geoplatform.gov/en/(link is external).

Only cities, counties/parishes, and other units of local government, and certain States and Native American Tribes (those that have an EPA-authorized lead abatement certification program on the submission deadline) are eligible applicants.

That’s why our grant program is designed to provide critical funding and resources to grantees that are taking practical, community-focused and innovative actions to implement equitable climate solutions in rural America.

Enabling our grantees to focus on driving meaningful change in rural communities is paramount at Rural Climate Partnership. With the combined strength of pooled resources from foundations & donors, we offer general operating and project support grants to bolster the work of rural-led and rural-serving organizations. Our funding typically ranges from $20,000 to $100,000 for projects and from $75,000 to $150,000 for general operating support.

Sponsorship Requests are requests for funds to sponsor a community event. Organization receiving funds agrees to include our logo in media and at the event. Event must be related to health and wellness. Sponsorship requests are generally granted in the amount of $1,000

Emergency and urgent needs for nonprofit organizations may occur outside the routine cycles described above. These types of grant requests will be considered on an individual basis.

The Legacy Foundation of Southeast Arizona offers capacity building grants to nonprofit organizations for the purpose of obtaining Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) training for their staff, Board, and volunteers.

The FY24 DEI grant is always open and is in the amount of $1000 per nonprofit organization.

This grant is being offered to nonprofits in Cochise and eastern Santa Cruz counties to promote population health and community wellness that is best achieved when diverse groups of people relate to one another with acceptance and respect, are valued and welcomed for who they are, and are given the same opportunities to grow, contribute, and develop within their community, regardless of their identity.

The grant is for the sole purpose of DEI training. The organization may select the DEI training that works best for them.

The Community Heart & Soul Seed Grant Program provides $10,000 in funding for resident-driven groups in small cities and towns to start the Community Heart & Soul model. Grant funding requires a $10,000 cash match from the participating municipality or a partnering organization.

Launching on April 22, 2022, the Nonprofit Solar Project was developed by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona (CFSA) in partnership with local donors and Solar United Neighbors (SUN).

As part of CFSA’s Environmental Sustainability Impact Fund, the Nonprofit Solar Project offers local nonprofits the opportunity to meet a significant portion of their energy needs through solar power. Through the switch to solar, nonprofits will be able to reduce their carbon footprint and energy costs, freeing up resources for programming or other infrastructure needs.
